London 2014-24 Hopkins Architects Baker Street is a project aimed at creating a multi-use space in the heart of London's West End. This project will occupy an entire urban block, located between Baker Street and Gloucester Place, offering the opportunity to enhance connectivity and access, revitalize the street presence, and maximize the creation of attractive new public spaces through large-scale urban design. A public arcade in the center of the office block will lead to a newly landscaped retail courtyard and a route through the Georgian-style terrace on Gloucester Place. The project includes a 200,000 square-foot office building, 42 residential apartments, 10 affordable housing units, and 20,000 square feet of prime retail space. Additionally, the public arcade will provide access to a newly landscaped courtyard and a pathway through the Georgian-style terrace on Gloucester Place. The design of this project is highly contextual, reflecting the surrounding streetscapes of Georgian-style terraces and mansion blocks. It features an efficient post-tensioned RC structure based on a 7.5-meter grid and employs high-quality materials such as Portland stone, York stone paving, and handmade bricks. Designed to attract the next generation of office occupiers, 25 Baker Street will offer an elegant and contemporary scheme with numerous amenities, rooftop gardens, and enhanced public spaces. |
