Katsuragi, Nara 2025 Yosuke Nagumo Studio HIT People x Activities / Past x Future A Small Forest as a Point of Exchange This plaza is designed as a town-like place where anyone can casually visit, relax, enjoy, be inspired, learn, and share - making use of the architecture left within the forest and its rich natural surroundings. The gently sloping, amphitheatre-shaped plaza connecting the Main Building and the Accommodation Wing to Nakatoshinike Pond is planned to allow visitors to enjoy water features and events while experiencing the forest's nature. The Main Building will function as accommodation that can also serve as an event space and an incubation space. The Accommodation Wing will serve as a residential-type paid nursing home (with short-stay options) and a health-promotion facility. The gymnasium will be transformed into a market and cycle station, enabling people of all generations to spend a fulfilling and enriching present moment. |
